The Taste History Culinary Tours of
Historic Palm Beach County
A frequently asked question is what Restaurants are visited?
Taste History is an enjoyable cultural culinary experience with hearty food tasting. This fun epicurean tour travels to historic West Palm Beach, Lake Worth & Lantana; and Delray Beach & Boynton Beach, Florida. We will be delighted to have you join us on the tour.
There are more than 30 restaurant partners including visits to family-owned eateries, cafes, bakeries, tea shops, juice bars, art shops and cultural sites.
At least three to four locally owned and family-owned restaurants, cafes, eateries, bakeries, teahouses or juice bars are visited per tour for hearty food tasting plus trips to emerging art and craft shops, cultural sites or historic districts.
The eateries are visited on a rotating schedule and are not always the same each tour. Each tour is unique and not an exact duplication of previous tours hosted.
To allow flexibility with planning the tour schedule and to maintain an element of surprise, the eateries are announced on the day of the tour during the tour. Taste History is a hearty food tasting tour and although there is sitting on the tour it's not a sit-down luncheon but many of the food portions are hearty and most people are full by the end of the tour. Plus, Florida history and food history are narrated by a guide. The cuisines featured on Taste History support the tour's cultural food mission therefore the food consists of fruits, vegetables, nuts, pork, poultry, seafood, shellfish, wheat and dairy.

Food Allergies and Dietary Restrictions Cannot be Accommodated. Dietary substitutions cannot be provided. Vegan and Vegetarian substitutions cannot be coordinated. Part of the mission of the tour is to celebrate the authenticity of food culture.
Although we sympathize with people who may have food allergies and dietary restrictions it's not logistically possible to accommodate them on this tasting tour because the dietary requests or food allergies are so varied it would make it impossible to offer food on the culinary tour and it is cost-prohibitive. Some of the restrictions' requests we receive, but not limited to, include requests for no meat, no beef, no pork, no seafood, no shell fish, no dairy, no nuts, no wheat, no onions, no garlic, no tomatoes, no peppers, no pineapples, no mangos, no salt, no sugar and no spices, to name a few. If we tried to accommodate these varied dietary requests, we'd have no food on the food tour. Again, Taste History is a hearty cultural tasting tour with alternate sitting and standing at some eateries. We're unable to take separate food orders because it's not logistically practical and is cost-prohibitive plus part of the tour's mission is to showcase historic food culture. Vegan and Vegetarian options are not available.
However, an alternative that we offer is a private non-food tour which is the Narrated Bus Tour of Historic Palm Beach County. The non-food tour features emerging art and historic districts and is only available for private groups. Contact us for more information at 561-638-8277.
